Spirit of Community Awards

The Spirit of the Community Awards™ (SOCA) is back! The event will take place with TASTE of the TriCities on September 21st, 2010 at the Red Robinson Show Theatre.

In the past, SOCA has proven to be an excellent way in which to recognize and celebrate the participation of the unsung heroes in our community. These are everyday citizens who voluntarily contribute their time, talent and/or resources to make our communities strong and livable for all.  

Nominations are in 8 categories. Each award is sponsored and presented by a different organization. The ceremony is attended by many of our distinguished community members, including city mayors and council members.

The event is in planning and all offers of assistance can go to andreasmith@telus.net .

Do you know of an unsung community hero? Well, now is your chance to nominate him or her. The Spirit of Community Awards provides residents of the Tri-Cities area an opportunity to honour individuals who are "community builders." Anybody who lives, works, plays, or has made community contributions in the Tri-Cities can be nominated. We want to help you honour your family, friends, and co-workers who selflessly show responsible citizenship by tirelessly working to create healthy communities through their tremendous contributions and commitments.

Please take the time to recognize an outstanding responsible citizen. We take nominations all year round.
