Taste of the Tri-Cities

Society for Community Development has a twenty year presence in the Tri-Cities and a history of introducing activities, programmes and events aimed at building healthy communities. The Society strives to encourage our residents to become responsible citizens involved in the well-being of their neighbourhoods and cities. SCD is excited to be combining forces with the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce in creating an evening dedicated to fostering community spirit and honouring the uniqueness of our cities. This is an exciting example of how the non-profit sector can partner with our area businesses to present an evening that brings our citizens, service organizations and businesses together. This is community development at its tastiest!

Family Wellness Month has come and gone with much success

During the month of October events took place around the Tri-Cities such as open houses, family games nights, family recreational activities, movie nights, Halloween parties and much more. The original aim was to have one event for every day of the month. We were able to reach this goal plus much more with the support of multiple organizations/groups/services in the Tri-Cities Communities. Thank you to all who was involved.

Pay it Forward

Pay it Forward was a program based on building virtues and assets in children and youth funded by National Crime Prevention and United Way. The initiative promoted building respect, trust, honesty, responsibility and community service giving the young participants an opportunity to realize their goals and become responsible members of their schools and communities. It is still running independently of the Society today.

Tri-Cities Community Solutions

Tri-Cities Community Solutions was committed to increasing regional quality of life by developing a strong network of community decision makers, community leaders and community members. The focus was on developing the collective capacity to promote equity, livability, and sustainability.
