Volunteers

Since April 2008, SCD-Society for Community Development has undergone significant changes. With a grant from United Way of the Lower Mainland, SCD contracted SPARC BC to undertake a review of our organizaton and the services we provide. The question asked was: how can SCD best serve the community building and social planning needs of the Tri Cities.  The Board of Directors greatly appreciates the contirbutions for our many  community partners and friends.

The Board is beginning intensive strategic planning to make use of the information contained in this review is reflected in all of our activities. The complete External Report as created by SPARC is available on our home page.

SCD will remain a volunteer driven grassroots organization. So, SCD needs you! We are looking for volunteers who find their interests and passions align with our vision and activities. If you would like to discuss being involved, please contact SCD at infoscd@telus.net.

Volunteer positions:

Board Member: This is a great way to learn the 'who, what and where' regarding the social issues being addressed across the Tri Cities as SCD is the bridger of community partnerships and activities.

Office Assistance: The telephones are rrrrrrringing and the emails need to be answered. The office is currently open only one morning each week. Our newly redesigned website needs to be maintained and updated. Oh, there is so much one could do!

Blogger: Is there a blogger hiding inside you? SCD needs a volunteer to manage a blog site for the discussion of social issues.  Training can be provided. The new website also has the potential to survey the community about social issues. Are you interested?

Activity Volunteer: Would you like to help with one of our activities? More hands will help to ensure that our plans are realized. And, more hands meanas more fun for all involved.

Newsletter Editor: One of our key strategies is to ensure the flow of information to all community members. Would you like to help create electronic newsletter?

How would you like to volunteer?
